Eleonor Fransson appointed Executive Vice President

Eleonor Fransson is the new Executive Vice President at Jönköping University, taking up her post on 1 July 2026. The appointment is for a four-year term and also means that she will be appointed President’s deputy.
Following a thorough internal process, President Måns Svensson has appointed Eleonor Fransson as Executive Vice President. At the same time, the Foundation Governing Board has decided to appoint her as the President’s deputy. The appointment runs until June 2030.
“It’s great to be able to continue working with Eleonor in this role. During her time as Acting Executive Vice President, she has demonstrated strong leadership, a good understanding of our operations, and an ability to build consensus on key issues. This appointment brings continuity and stability to our leadership, which is crucial for our ongoing development work,” says Måns Svensson, President at Jönköping University.
Eleonor Fransson has been Acting Executive Vice President since 1 January 2026 and therefore already has experience in the role. She is looking forward to continuing her work alongside colleagues across the organization.
“I am very much looking forward to this role and feel both honoured and delighted by the trust that has been placed in me. Being able to continue in this role gives me the opportunity to build on the work that has already begun. I look forward to working with my colleagues and the management council to continue developing Jönköping University and contributing to our shared goals,” says Eleonor Fransson.
This appointment strengthens strategic leadership and creates a solid foundation for the continued development of JU’s activities in the coming years.
