Maria Sederholm Granelund appointed as new MD of Jönköping University Enterprise

Maria Sederholm Granelund has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Jönköping University Enterprise (JUE), succeeding Eva Gipperth, University Director of Jönköping University (JU). Maria is currently Head of the International Office (IO) and will combine her role as MD of JUE with her current position.
“I am delighted and honoured by the trust placed in me to lead JUE and to become a member of JU’s Management Council. Combining the role of MD of JUE with that of Head of the International Office creates excellent opportunities to strengthen the interplay between internationalization, collaboration, and development within JU. I look forward to continuing to develop JUE’s activities alongside fantastic colleagues and partners, and to contributing to JU’s strategic goals at management level, whilst also continuing to develop IO together with the skilled and driven colleagues in the department,” says Maria.
“It’s also particularly exciting as I have strong ties to Gränna and spent a year at Grennaskolan during my high school years. Having the opportunity to contribute to the development of an organization with strong local roots and an international reach feels very inspiring,” she continues.
Extensive national and international network
In her role as Head of IO, Maria has worked closely with the schools at JU as well as a large number of international partners, and she is currently responsible for, amongst other things, international student recruitment, partner universities, exchange programmes, Responsible Internationalization, and the coordination of JU’s work within EULiST. Maria joined JU in 2021 and previously worked in various roles related to internationalization. Over the years, she has built up an extensive national and international network.
“It is very gratifying that Maria has accepted this role. Maria has demonstrated a strong commitment to JU’s development and has extensive experience of building relationships and collaborations, both nationally and internationally. Through her work on internationalization and strategic development issues, she has gained a broad understanding of JU’s operations, the sector, and its context. I look forward to working alongside her in her new role,” says Måns Svensson, President at JU.
Maria will take up her post on 1 September 2026 and, as MD of JUE, will also become a member of JU’s Management Council.
